Let me share how I embarked on an exciting journey that led me to the doors of Wantedly for an internship that opened up a world of possibilities.

I'm Ferman, a cat enthusiast who loves music-filled walks and the charm of capturing life's moments through Polaroid photography. But that's not all there is to me!

It all started when I signed up for a Digital Marketing Course organised by Hatch. In just 10 weeks, I immersed myself in the world of marketing basics, equipping myself with the right tools to reach specific audiences and unleashing my creativity through various projects. Beyond marketing skills, I also honed soft skills like presenting, embracing open-mindedness, and being receptive to constructive criticism.

After graduating from the course, the real adventure began with interviews to land the perfect internship. Amidst the nerve-wracking process, I found myself sitting across the table for an interview at Wantedly. I was filled with anticipation and excitement, and little did I realise that this meeting would begin an extraordinary journey.

Here’s How My First Two Weeks Of Internship Went

Starting my internship at Wantedly was a thrilling experience that made me feel both excited and nervous. There was a lot of information to take in, but I knew it was all part of the journey. Despite feeling overwhelmed, I remained determined and committed to making the most of the journey that lay ahead of me.

As the days went on, I had the pleasure of meeting my colleagues, who welcomed me with open arms and warm smiles. We bonded over a fantastic team lunch, forging connections that made the office feel like home.

Alta Exchange Dry Run

One memorable experience during my two weeks at Wantedly was when my team and I did a dry run photoshoot and video shoot for Alta Group. We explored different camera settings like aperture and shutter speed and figured out how to shoot in bright and dark settings. We also worked on video configurations to get the best footage. It was a fun and enlightening experience, and I enjoyed learning how to use this powerful tool with my team.

Workshop With Hatch

The excitement continued when Hatch, came for a visit. It was a day full of valuable insights and personal growth for the Immersive+ students. We focused on building resumes and personal branding. 

When it was my turn, I presented slides titled "How I Ended Up at Wantedly." I shared my experience, from being a student at Hatch to reaching this defining moment of my internship at Wantedly. 

I talked about what I went through, the soft skills I learned, the challenging Capstone project, and the joyful Polaroid Class Frame Project. It was an unforgettable opportunity to showcase my growth and passion, and I'm grateful for this enchanting adventure with Wantedly.

Volunteering At Hope Centre

At Hope Center, a non-profit organisation promoting racial harmony, we helped at a mini carnival with traditional Singaporean games like "chapteh" and "country eraser war." It was heartwarming to see people of all ages, from youngsters to the elderly, come together to join in the fun.

As the game master for "chapteh," I enjoyed sharing this cultural experience and witnessing the joy it brought to everyone. The bingo game added excitement, with prizes like smartwatches and old-school snacks creating a buzz of anticipation.

Despite being just my 5th day as an intern, the event allowed me to bond with my teammates and feel grateful for the power of community and kindness. This volunteering experience at Hope Center has inspired me, and I'm eager to contribute more.

Alta Photoshoot And Video Shoot

On the actual day of the Alta photoshoot and video shoot execution day, I was assigned to capture behind-the-scenes footage for our team and the client. Despite having plans for shooting locations and timings, unexpected surprises tested our adaptability.

Amidst the nerves, we fearlessly dived into our creative process, exploring various poses and angles to seize the perfect shots. Communication played a crucial role during the retake process, ensuring the client's expectations were met and exceeded, leaving them highly satisfied. The day had its challenges, but our joint efforts and teamwork made it an unforgettable and successful experience.

Filtering Alta’s photos and videos

Next up, filtering Alta's photos and videos! Looking at what we shot and filmed felt like finding hidden gems. While editing photos and videos takes days of dedicated effort, the satisfaction of bringing our vision to life made it all worthwhile. Reflecting on our collective journey, we felt immense pride at seeing how far we’ve come from the planning to the execution of the deliverables and, finally, the post-production stage.

Looking forward to what’s next

From exhilarating shoots to heartwarming volunteering, each experience left a lasting impact. With newfound inspiration for the upcoming next, I'm ready to make a positive impact during this enriching internship. The adventure has just begun, and I'm excited about what lies ahead.
