Look Back 2020: Growth in Wantedly Users

It’s a new year! Looking back at numbers, we observe a 50 percent growth in new user sign-ups when we compared data from 2019 to 2020, which is a significant increase. What attributes to the growth? These numbers suggest that now more than ever, people are looking for new employment opportunities or a career change.

With the increase of people seeking jobs, how is the job market preparing as the economy is slowly recovering? This article from The Edge Singapore provided an insight into how HR firms prepare to work hard while the pandemic hits the job market.

Going above and beyond

At Wantedly, we saw the need to equip and connect users with the right tools for their career growth and search. Here are some selected highlights of our initiatives in 2020:

Hiring-Freeze Tracker

A live hiring tracker designed to help job seekers with their career search. While the platform invites the community to contribute to its listing, Wantedly assists in verifying the list as well.

Pro Bono Job Listing

A list of active hiring companies are collated and shared with various institutions, schools, and talent communities to keep their students, alumni, and members informed of all possible job opportunities within the platform.

Wantedly Career Connect

We held our first virtual career sharing session with insights on current hiring trends, trade secrets on what recruiters are looking for, and tips for building an effective resume. With our invited guests from Sparkline and Trent Global College, over 100 registrants, valued partners and talent community have contributed tremendously to this success. Attendees also walked away with various e-resources shared during the talk.

Henry Ford says, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is a success.”

At Wantedly, this is our hope for the community in 2021, and which we will continue to strive for in the coming year, connecting talents in Singapore in their career growth, with companies they’ll love.

Here’s to a more hopeful and exciting new beginnings!
