第37回黒羽芭蕉の里全国俳句大会「自由題の部」において、総投句数2,431句の中から、星野乃梨子選「佳作」に選出されました。 雪解川　石のひとつが　日を返す この句で掬い取りたかったのは、春の大きな景ではなく、流れのなかでふと目に留まった、ごく小さな反射です。絶えず移ろう雪解川と、その場にとどまる石。「石」ではなく「石のひとつ」と置くことで、名もないものが一瞬だけ世界の焦点になる感覚を詠みました。 また、「日を受ける」ではなく「日を返す」としたことで、石はただ照らされる静物ではなく、光に応答する存在として立ち現れます。流れるものと残るもの、その接点に生じた一瞬を、十七音に留めた句です。 — English — At the 37th Kurobane Bashō no Sato National Haiku Contest, the following haiku was selected by Noriko Hoshino for an Honorable Mention in the Open Theme Division, from a total of 2,431 submissions. Snowmelt river— one stone among them returns the sun. What I wanted to catch in this haiku was not a grand spring landscape, but a tiny reflection that suddenly drew my eye within the current. The snowmelt river is always moving; the stone remains where it is. By writing not simply “a stone,” but “one of the stones,” I tried to capture the sensation of something nameless becoming, for a moment, the focus of the world. By choosing “returns the sun” rather than “receives the sun,” the stone appears not as a passive object being illuminated, but as a presence responding to light. This haiku holds in seventeen Japanese syllables the instant that arises where what flows meets what remains.
