The Straits Times' Covid-19 heroes: Caring for the community
“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller
The Straits Times, featured Wantedly Singapore's hiring freeze tracker in the Sunday Times' Portraits of Purpose series. In this COVID-19 weekly feature celebrating "heroes" in the community, we were lauded for our initiative to help jobseekers impacted due to the crisis.
We definitely dare not consider ourselves heroes but we sure care about the community.
Together with our counterparts in Hong Kong and Japan, we created a live tracker that shows whether companies are hiring, firing or going through a hiring freeze after receiving numerous queries from users, friends and family members about which companies are still hiring amid the pandemic.
To date, more than 760 companies are currently listed and the platform also contains information on the roles available and how job-seekers can apply. If you are a jobseeker or want to share information about your company status, visit 👉🏼 https://www.wantedly.com/hiring_freezes/sg.
The work is not done yet, while some hiring activity has recovered, we expect to receive news of yet more layoffs. If you know someone who will benefit from the information we are putting together, refer them to us...We are in this together!
