I am an aspiring designer driven by a passion for merging design with my diverse background in engineering, banking, and startup to tackle real-world challenges with innovative solutions.
With a solid foundation in administrative roles across diverse industries, I'm poised to embark on an exciting transition into the design industry, where I can finally channel my innate creativity into my daily work.
Undertake a diverse range of design projects encompassing branding (flyers & logos), editorial (books, magazines & prospectuses), social media (EDMs, Instagram & YouTube), UI/UX (Web & App), and digital art. These projects are guided by detailed design briefs and undergo iterative refinement based on peer reviews.
Acquire proficiency in the design process, including user research, ideation, wire-framing, prototyping, and stakeholder presentations. Additionally, I aim to create my inaugural language app utilizing design software such as Sketch, InVision, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
I participated in the launch of the world's pioneering unified payment QR code system, SGQR, where my responsibilities included conducting usability testing, user acceptance testing, and managing SGQR applications to guarantee a smooth customer experience.
The project encompasses three key aspects: 1) Usability Testing: Evaluated the design layout of the new SGQR Application Form with the aim of simplifying the application process. The objective was to provide users with clear guidance on what is required and where to input information at a glance, thus eliminating confusion and frustration associated with ambiguous instructions and unnecessary queries. 2) User Acceptance Testing: Collaborated with the IT team to simulate diverse customer personas on IBM System i or AS400. This effort aimed to ensure a seamless customer experience during the application process for SGQR online and across various devices, minimizing processing delays and mitigating customer complaints. 3) Application Processing: Following the product launch, facilitated application submissions through both online and offline channels. Applications were processed through different systems corresponding to their respective channels. My role involved processing applications and collecting feedback to identify areas for potential enhancement.
I provided assistance to the business development team by evaluating credible leads, both locally and internationally. This involved comprehending client requirements, conducting thorough due diligence, composing emails, scheduling meetings, and refining prospectuses.
I optimized the daily workflow to facilitate the issuance of over 83,000 online banking access requests within the project timeline. This was a crucial aspect of the Digitization Project aimed at enhancing customer experience by simplifying and streamlining the application process.
I opted for an accountancy degree over a general business program to specialize in a field with high demand. However, I also diversified my education by selecting non-accounting modules such as marketing, business law, and human resources.
My team and I visited my previous employer, HSBC, to meet with my former supervisor and gain insights into the organizational structure, business strategy, and people management practices. We focused on understanding the challenges related to aligning employees' aspirations with the company's objectives, fostering motivation and cohesion, and gathering insights into customer needs and feedback.
Our team conducted a case study on the sportswear brand Under Armour, focusing on the marketing strategy for their latest sports shoe. This involved analyzing the company's market position, current marketing trends, conducting a SWOT analysis, and delving into consumer behavior and preferences to pinpoint the target audience. We aimed to identify the most effective marketing channels to promote our product.
I optimized the daily workflow to efficiently clear the backlog of credit card applications accumulated from islandwide roadshows. Additionally, I assisted in transforming raw data into comprehensive statistics to ensure the telesales team met their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
As part of the Process Optimization Projects, my team enhanced the productivity and efficiency of the production lines. We achieved this by conducting analytical time studies, ensuring improvements without compromising quality and safety standards.
I was acknowledged by SPRING Singapore for creating a prototype, through which I gained valuable insights into the research and development process of projects. This experience also exposed me to the challenges of delivering designs that effectively meet user expectations.
