Design and Innovation Project: First Person Immersive Experiential Game
Design and Innovation Project (DIP) is a compulsory program for all students. Within a group of nine, each project team will propose, design and prototype their product. Created a first-person immersive experiential game, using the unity3D game engine, where the player explores a beautiful world brimming with natural life through comprehensive design and leap motion interaction. The project aimed to deliver a realistic experience as it attempts to bridge the gap between the player and the screen, enabling the player to control all movement through their hands and fingers without the need for other equipment. This is made possible using Leap Motion’s motion sensing technology. Integrating Leap Motion with Unity3D, programming scripts are done in Unity3D to control the animations. By performing simple hand gestures within the section region of Leap Motion sensor, the player could interact with the virtual environment displayed on the screen and immerse himself in the beauty of nature.
