About Me
(English below) 上智大学国際教養学部の2017年卒。父の転勤で1歳から7歳までアメリカのテキサス州、15歳から18歳までベトナムのホーチミン市で過ごす。現在は株式会社イーオンで常勤の英語教師/教務主任をしている。 7歳で帰国した当時は、自分がまだ幼かったのと、現在ほど英語が重要視されてなかったことから、英語を忘れてしまうのではないかと周りに言われていたが、自分は英語が第一言語のように思えて大切で、帰国子女保持教室に通いながら英語を忘れるどころか伸ばそうと頑固に一生懸命だった。いつかはまた日本を出て飛び出すと夢を膨らませていた。 ただその期間は、ずっと公立校に通っていて、インターナショナルスクールなどには一切通わず、週一回の帰国子女保持教室と趣味の読書/洋画/作本などで補ったため、相当頑固に英語を忘れないようにしたのだなと自分でも不思議に思う。 15歳で高校受験し、第一希望に受かるも父のベトナムへの転勤が決まり、向こうではインターナショナルスクールに通いながら毎日英語で過ごしていた。今まで頑張ってきて良かったと強く思えた。 2021年夏までは、株式会社イーオンのあるスクールで常勤の教務主任として、英語を教える。社会人の方々や学生さん、3歳からの幼児や小学生、中学生など、幅広い年齢の方にレッスンのご指名もいただき、担当した。一人一人の目標や学習状況を常に追いながら、カウンセリングも実行。またオフィスで一緒に働く日本人スタッフと外国人スタッフの通訳や異文化理解にも力を入れてきた。2021年5月にはJ-SHINE 小学校英語指導者資格も取得。 2021年6月頃、弟が堀江裕介のTwitterで英語トレーナーを募集している投稿を見つけ、私に進めてくれました。堀江氏とdelyの持つ、ビジョンとカルチャーを大好きになり、思い切って堀江氏にDM、そのまま面接へ。今までとは新しいステージで更に経験したいと思い、英語トレーナーではなく通訳のポジションを希望し、挑戦させていただくことに。 現在は、2021年10月からdely, Inc.にて、外国籍エンジニアの採用面接で逐次通訳/プロダクト説明を担っている。入社から現在まででおよそ100件の面接を通訳。delyの大切な外国籍メンバーを人事の一員として英語で1on1などでサポートし、delyの日本語話者と英語話者のグローバルな雰囲気作りも携わってきた。11月からは堀江氏の英語コーチもしています。 外国人の友人たちとの交流も多く、休日は彼らと過ごす時間も多いが、1人でいる時間もすごく好きである。映画鑑賞のような受け身な趣味もあるが、アート/音楽のように内なる物を外へ描き出すことが本当に大好きである。きっと、英語や日本語などの「言語」では表現しきれない何かを表現したい自分がいるのだと思う。 シンガーソングライターもしており、時折InstagramやYouTube を更新している。 Graduate of Sophia University FLA class of 2017. I am Japanese and was born in Japan, but I have also lived in Houston TX of America, and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam since my father worked there. I am fluent in English and Japanese, and am currently teaching English full time to adults and kids from 2018. When I first came back to Japan at age 7, many people around me thought it would be difficult to remember/progress my English skills, since I was too young to come back, and the English education in Japan at the time wasn't as promising as it was now. But I didn't want to give myself up, and loved English so much like my first language. Though I went to a public school with no special English classes, I went to a returnee class every week, and kept doing my hobbies in English such as reading books/watching movies/writing stories. They all had helped me when I had the chance to move to Vietnam with my family, where I studied at an international school for my whole high school years. Until the summer of 2021, I worked as a full time head teacher in a school of AEON corporation. I taught from children to adults; babies from 3 years old, elementary/middle school students, high school/university students, parents, and business workers. I was so grateful to have so many students who enjoyed and requested the lessons by my name. I made time for each student's counselings, to better understand their goals and current English skills. I also put my effort in being the bridge between the Japanese staffs and foreign teachers, by translating and also understanding/sharing our different cultures we share. Now, since October of 2021, I have been interpreting over 100 interviews for international engineers, as well as explaining the products and the team as a presentation in the interview. I had been supporting the international members through 1on1s and helped become a bridge between the Japanese and English speakers. From November or 2021, I also started coaching English to my CEO Yusuke Horie. During my weekends, I enjoy spending time with friends from overseas, but I also value the time to reflect on myself. I like gaining new insights by watching movies, but I also love creating art and music. It's probably because these mediums allow me to express myself, in which I cannot describe by words. I am a singer-songwriter too, and sometimes upload my music on Instagram or YouTube.
