ガウラヴ ワグマレ

I am grateful to have secured 2nd place 🥈 in the Junior Category at the Japanese Language Speech Contest. ➀ Choosing my speech topic was confusing at first, but I connected the dots back to my childhood and spoke about my favourite childhood show, Doraemon. I began my speech with, 「ドラえもんの ポケットから はじまった わたしの ゆめ」 Meaning: "My dream began from Doraemon's pocket." I delivered it with the creativity I could bring. ➁ Getting selected for the first round was a real battle, and it taught me never to take anything lightly. I recorded over 100 retakes of my video for the initial round. Seeing my name on the list of finalists made all of it worthwhile, and I was beyond excited to deliver my speech. ➂ Winning was never really the goal for me. Speaking on stage in a completely different language and being able to communicate if someone asked me a question was the real win. I didn't prepare specifically for the Q&A, but every hour I spent practising and every piece of feedback I received was worth it.
