兵庫県の加古郡稲美町で生まれ育ちました。 名前の通り秋になると田んぼの稲が美しい稲作が盛んな町です。 そこで、稲作農家の祖父をみて、田んぼで遊びながら育ち、自然と農業に関心を持つようになりました。
