  • Texas wins 2 consecutive ALCS against Houston

Simian’s hit in the 1st inning The Texas Rangers of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) have won two consecutive American League Championship Series and are close to advancing to the World Series. Texas scored four runs in the first inning to beat the Houston Astros 5-4 in Game 2 of the ALCS at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Game 3 of the two teams will be held at 9 a.m. on the 19th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. Texas' lineup exploded with the start of the first inning. When Marcus Simian and Corey Seager opened with consecutive hits, Houston starter Framber Valdez caught Robbie Grossman's ball and gave him a hard throw to first base and one run. In the second and third bases with no outs, Adolis Garcia and Mitch Garber hit back-to-back timely hits. With runners on first and second bases with one out, Nathanielo hit a left-handed hit that ran away 4-0. When Houston chased Jordan Alvarez's solo home run to the right in the second inning, Texas ran away 5-1 again with Jonah Haim's one-run home run to the left in the top of the third inning. Houston rallied one run apiece with Alex Bregman's homer to left in the fourth and Michael Brantley's double in the sixth, and Alvarez's second homer of the game, a superior solo shot in the eighth, caught up 4-5 under the Texans' chin but couldn't score any more. Texas starter Nathan Ivaldey did his bit with nine strikeouts and three runs in six innings, but Houston's Valdez allowed seven hits and five runs in two ⅔ innings and dropped his head.
