実家が寺院のため、大学の3年間をかけて僧侶資格を取得した。浄土宗僧侶としての活動が認められた。 Because my parents' family is a temple, he spent three years at university to qualify as a monk.

人権のない生活を80日, 80 days without human rights.
浄土宗の僧侶になるために、20日間の修行生活を4回行った。どの回も人間扱いされることはなく、罵声を浴びせられ、正座に耐え、鬱に耐え、怒りに耐え、煩悩に耐えて乗り切った。人生でこれ以上につらい経験はないと断言する。 I went through four 20-day retreats to become a Buddhist monk. Each time I was not treated like a human being, and I had to endure abuse, endure sitting on the floor, endure depression, endure anger, endure vexation and get through it. I assure you that I have never had a more painful experience in my life.

大学ではスウェーデン語と英語の習得に力を入れた。スウェーデン史ゼミに所属し、高度な論文に加え18世紀の古スウェーデン語も読みこなし卒業論文を執筆した。他大学の教授が集まる「バルト・スカンディナビア研究会」でも研究報告を経験。

オセップ留学生インターンシッププログラムボランティア
海外から日本に英語のみを使うコースで留学した学生が参加するインターンシッププログラムの補助を行っている。留学生2～3人に対して、教員や地域の人との共同で行われた。留学生との橋渡しとして、英語の通訳などコミュニケーションの円滑化に貢献した。 Assistance was provided for an internship programme for students from abroad who studied in Japan on an English-only course. This was done in collaboration with teachers and local people for two or three international students. As a bridge to the international students, they contributed to the facilitation of communication, including English interpretation.

バルト＝スカンディナヴィア研究会・研究報告
バルト＝スカンディナヴィア研究会「北欧史研究の論点ー研究者と学生がともに考える」にて研究報告。学部生優秀論文として、他大学の教授が集まる研究会にて研究報告を行った。 Research report at the Baltic-Scandinavian Studies Group 'Issues in the Study of Nordic History - Researchers and Students Together'. Research presented as an excellent undergraduate student paper at a meeting of professors from other universities.

とつゆめプロジェクト, "Totsuyume" Project
奈良県十津川村の中学生に向けて行ったプロジェクト。田舎の生徒に「大学生になったらできるすごいこと」を体験してもらい、学問に興味を持ってもらうことが目的。十津川村の中学校現地でのワークショップを企画しプレゼンなどを行った。 The project was aimed at junior high school students in Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture. The aim was to have rural students experience the 'amazing things you can do when you become a university student' and to get them interested in academics. Workshops were organised and presentations given at local junior high schools in Totsukawa village.
