本日のインタビューは、森未来のある女性社員の方とのです。関口真理さんです。関口さんの仕事内容や、会社への思いを聞いてみましょう。

関口さん、まずはウォーミングアップの質問から。まだまだ暑い日が続きますが、もうすぐ夏が終わりますね。秋の予定はどうですか。

夏の間はあまり外で過ごすことをしませんでした。秋には家族でキャンプに行きたいです。

森未来でのお仕事について教えてください。

会社では経理と総務を担当しています。

普段のスケジュールはどのようになっていますか？

時間が決まっているようなスケジュールはあまりないですね。経理の仕事があれば、たいてい一日中その仕事をしています。経理の仕事がなければ総務の仕事をしています。

リモートワークもされていますよね。リモートワークとなると、仕事の構成は変わりますか？

はい、週に3～4日は在宅で仕事をしています。でも、だからと言って仕事の構成が大きく変わることはありません。

関口さんは2年ほど前に入社されたんですよね。そもそも森未来を知ったきっかけは何だったんですか？

浅野さんとは、森未来の前からのお付き合いです。浅野さんが会社を設立したとき、私はまだ数ヶ月前に生まれた息子の面倒を見るために家にいたんです。なので、とにかく仕事を探していたところ、彼に誘われて会社に入社しました。

入社から現在に至るまで、印象に残っているエピソードを教えてください。

社員同士で初めて行った旅行ですね。その時は、会社の話をするだけでなく、お互いの目標を共有しました。自分が人生に何を求めているのかを改めて考えさせられました。

ホームページの自己紹介では、「社員が働きやすいと思える会社づくりに取り組みたい」とおっしゃっていますね。 これは、実際にはどのような意味があるのでしょうか？

社員が働きやすいと感じるための一つの方法は、社員の考えを聞くだけでなく、社員の悩みを聞くことです。私自身も、相手が何か相談したいと思ったときに、そばにいてあげることで、そのために貢献できるようにしたいと思っています。

関口さんは、小さなお子さんが2人いらっしゃるんですよね。育児と森未来の仕事、両立の難しさはありますか？

そうですね。特に仕事をしながら、夫と私の2人の子供たちのために料理を作る時間を確保するのは大変です。週のほとんどの時間を在宅で仕事ができないとしたら、それは不可能です。

当社は子育て中の社員や女性社員のことを十分に考えていると思いますか？改善してほしい点はありますか？

森未来では、正社員だからといってフルタイムで働く必要はありません。また、在宅勤務も可能ですし、子供の世話がある時には休みを取ることもできます。これらの点は、家庭と仕事の両立にとても役立っています。ただ、女性の立場からすると、これから変えていきたいというか、考えてほしいことが一つあります。今の職場では、トイレは男女兼用のものが1つしかありません。将来、新しい場所に引っ越すことになったら、トイレが別々になっていたらいいなと思います。

すでに就職活動をしている、またはこれから就職活動を始める大学生に向けてのアドバイスはありますか？

大学生だったころと比べて、今では仕事に対する見方がかなり変わりました。初めて就活をしていた時は、大手の一流企業に入社するという計画を立てていたのですが、実際にそうなりました。今では、ほとんどの人が聞いたこともないような小さな会社で働いていますが、それでも満足しています。大企業に比べれば、自由度が高いです。自分のアイデアを持ち込んで、家庭生活に合わせて働き方を調整することができます。だから、これからの学生の皆さんには、大企業だけにこだわらず、自分が何をしたいのか、働く上で大切なことは何なのか、よく考えてみてほしいと思います。

今回の関口さんのインタビューでは、女性の立場から改善したい点などもお話しいただきました。

Today’s interview is with one of our female employees: Mari Sekiguchi. Let’s hear about her work and thoughts about Shinmirai!

Sekiguchi-san, let’s start with a warm-up question: It’s still hot, but the summer is soon over. What are your plans for the fall?

Because of the heat, we did not spend much time outside during the summer. In the fall, I want to go camping with my family.

Please tell us about your work at Shinmirai.

I am responsible for the accounting and the general affairs at Shinmirai.

What does your schedule on a regular day look like?

I don’t really have a schedule with fixed times or so. If there is accounting to do, I usually spend my whole workday on it. If there is no accounting to do, I deal with the general affairs.

You do remote work as well. Does your workdays structure change when you work from home?

Yes, I work 3-4 days a week from home. But I would not say that the structure of my work changes a lot because of that.

Sekiguchi-san, you joined the company about 2 years years ago, right? How did you get to know about Shinmirai in the first place?

Asano and I have been friends even before Shinmirai. When he founded the company, I was still at home to care about my son, who was born some months earlier. So, I was looking for work anyway when he asked me to join Shinmirai.

From joining the company to today, which episode left the most impression on you?

That is the first trip we employees did together. On that occasion, we not only talked about the future of Shinmirai but also shared our personal goals with each other. That really made me think again about what I want from life.

In your self-introduction on our homepage, you say that you want to “work on building a company where the employees feel it’s easy to work. ”. What does this actually mean to you?

One way of making employees feel comfortable is to listen to their ideas but also their problems. I try to contribute myself to this goal by being there for the others whenever they feel like they need to talk about something.

Sekiguchi-san, besides working at Shinmirai, you also raise two little children. Is it challenging to balance both?

Indeed, it’s challenging to spend the necessary amount of time on both. Especially working and still finding the time to cook for our two young children, my husband and me is hard. If I could not work from home for most of the week, it would be impossible.

Do you think that our company considers its parent and female employees enough? Is there anything that you would like to improve?

At Shinmirai being a full-member doesn’t require to work full time. Also, you always have the possibility to work from home or take a day off when you have to take care of your children. These points help me a lot to manage both, my family and my job. But, from a woman’s perspective, there is one thing I want to change or rather be considered in the future. In our current office, we only have one toilet for both men and women. If in the future, we move to a new place, separated toilets would be nice.

Is there any advice you have for the college students who are already doing or will be starting job hunting?

My way of looking at work has changed quite a bit since I was in college. When I was job hunting for the first time, I had this plan of joining one of the big prestigious companies, and it actually came that way. Now, I work for our little company most people have never heard of, but I’m still happy. Compared to the big company, I have a lot more freedom. I can bring in my ideas and adjust my working style with my family life. So, I would recommend the students out there to really think about what they want to do and what is important to them about working and not only consider the big companies.
