Qoo10 provides a powerful online marketplace platform that allows its buyers enjoy highly secure and convenient shopping experience. Qoo10 emerged the No. 1 Singapore-based e-commerce platform, after being named 'Best Online Retailer' at the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards 2015.
In the same year, Qoo10 raised an US$82.1 million series A funding round led by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). Other investors in the round include eBay, Saban Capital Group, UVM 2 Venture Investments LP, Brookside Capital, and Oak Investment Partners.
In 2017, Qoo10 retained the Readers' Choice award for Best Electronics Shopping Portal (Singapore) that it also won in the previous year 2016 (Hardwarezone Tech Awards 2017).
In May 2018, Qoo10 moved into a 21,810 sq ft office at Gateway West, located at in the Central area of Singapore and is more than double the area of its previous office. In the same year, iprice announced that Qoo10 is leading the pack when it became the first to break eight figures for e-commerce traffic when it rose 70% to hit an average of 14.4 million traffic followed by Lazada 6.3 million and Shopee 2.5 million.
Recently in 2019, QuuBe its blockchain-based e-commerce site was officially launched. With the elimination of the costs involved in processing payments and lowered spending on IT systems needed to maintain things like databases, Mr Ku said these cost savings are then transferred to retailers. Online sellers, for instance, no longer need to pay the 7 to 12 per cent service fees to Qoo10 when they list on QuuBe, the CEO said. In turn, the higher profit margins mean sellers have more flexibility to lower their prices, which would potentially benefit consumers, he added.
