Share Shed is a non-profit company that allows their customers to borrow all sorts of items with an annual-based membership. They provide all kinds of useful items so the member doesn’t need to buy items but can borrow instead.
Currently, Share Shed has problems with their third-party lending application, Lend Engine. The issues include random downtimes, limitation of features and layout customisation, and access problem from several mobile devices. With the use of our product, Share Shed would increase their efficiency and overcome Lend Engine’s shortcomings to successfully operate their company.
Our product is a web-based lending platform that allows customers to borrow a wide range of products with a membership system. The product includes a responsive interface for both the admin/librarian and the customers which allow the website to be accessible from every device. This system aims to provide a more flexible and user-friendly website that would help users to use our site with ease of mind.
The key users for this website would be customers and Share Shed’s librarians or admins. The admins will have higher permission and will be in charge of managing the items, loans and members on the admin dashboard. They can also modify the operating hours which will change the lending calendar system accordingly. The librarians will be in charge of lending the items and managing orders. The customers can register as members and pays membership if they want to loan items. The items are available to be browsed in the catalogue page.
