Confidence Isn't Built on Stage !!
One of the hashtag#biggest hashtag#misconceptions I hear is:
"I want to become confident, so I should learn hashtag#publicspeaking."
Public speaking certainly helps YET confidence begins much earlier. Confidence is built when you:
• hashtag#Ask the question everyone else is hashtag#afraid to ask.
• Take responsibility for a hashtag#difficult hashtag#decision.
• Speak honestly in a challenging conversation.
• Say "I don't know" without feeling inadequate.
• Stand by your hashtag#values when they're tested.
The stage simply reveals the confidence you've already built. It doesn't create it.
Over the years, while hashtag#mentoring hashtag#students, hashtag#professionals, hashtag#entrepreneurs and hashtag#leaders, I've realised that confidence is less about speaking well...
...and more about living with hashtag#clarity, hashtag#courage and hashtag#consistency.
Public speaking is a skill. Confidence is an identity. And identities are built one decision at a time.
What's one decision in your life that made you more confident?
