Cherry blossoms season
It’s getting warmer day by day, and Tokyo is finally welcoming the cherry blossom season. I bet many of you have already enjoyed "Hanami" (cherry blossom viewing)!
Since moving our office from Roppongi to Shinjuku, this was our very first cherry blossom season. So, the office members and I went to the nearby National Garden for Hanami.
When we arrived, the line to get in was so long it felt like a queue for a popular theme park ride! There were also a lot of tourists from abroad. But we managed to lay out our picnic sheet under the shade of the trees and had a relaxing lunch, which was great.
I really think the custom of Hanami—eating and drinking while admiring the sakura—is such a uniquely Japanese and beautiful tradition. 🌸
