Sharing of a formal case

On a quiet afternoon, I was sorting documents in the office when I suddenly received a call from a client. He was a middle-aged man named Li Ming, who was very troubled by a house rental dispute.
The thing was that Li Ming rented his house to a tenant, but after the lease expired, the tenant not only did not move out in time, but also owed rent for several months. Li Ming tried to communicate with the tenant many times, but it was never resolved. Seeing the house vacant, his anxiety grew day by day.
I made an appointment with Li Ming to meet in the office. Through the conversation, I learned that he had always trusted the tenant very much, and even gave the other party a lot of discounts during the lease, but he did not expect to end up like this. In the process of talking to him in detail, I not only heard his distress, but also felt his helplessness and loss in his heart.
After understanding the whole picture, I told him that we need to try to communicate through legal channels first, require the tenant to fulfill the contract, and find a suitable solution. In the process, I explained the relevant legal terms and countermeasures to Li Ming, so that he understood his rights and the steps we would take next.
We drafted a formal demand letter and notice to vacate, carefully reviewing every detail to ensure that the tone was formal and polite. After that, I served the documents to the tenant on behalf of Li Ming. This document had an unexpected effect. After receiving the notice, the tenant quickly contacted us and expressed his willingness to fulfill the lease and move out immediately. At the same time, the tenant also agreed to repay the arrears in installments.
After several weeks of negotiation, Li Ming finally got what he wanted, took back the house, and got part of the arrears. Although the process was not easy, I was deeply relieved to see him gradually let go and regain confidence.
Through this experience, I once again realized that as a civil lawyer, it is not only necessary to have solid legal knowledge, but also patience and empathy. The law is not just a cold clause, but also a bridge of trust and interaction between people. Only by handling every case, respecting the feelings of every client, and solving problems with heart can we gradually accumulate experience and wisdom in our work.
