Crime Data Research (US)
• Researched local, state, and national data from the U.S. 2017 FBI Uniform Crime Reporting program in order to determine known offenses for 5 categories of crime. • Compared rates of violent crime including murder and nonnegligent manslaughter across 3 U.S. states to determine safest geographic region. • Used 2017 data from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics National Crime Victimization Survey to analyze rates of violent crime victimization by multiple variables, including age and maritial status. • Used Microsoft Excel to visualize data from the National Crime Victimization Survey regarding victimization and reporting trends over a 23-year period.
