What we do

PingCAP is one of the fastest-growing enterprise subscription company our investors have ever seen. And how are we growing so fast? By building TiDB, a globally scalable hybrid transactional and analytical database and one of the most popular open source database in the world (don’t take our word for it, check it out: https://github.com/pingcap/tidb), which enables companies to painlessly scale their business while keeping the underlying infrastructure simple. Our product has been trusted and verified by web-scale application leaders and adopted by over 1500 users across industries. We’re being led by the best in the space—our founders were the original creators of TiDB. Our products have been trusted by large scale industry leaders and adopted by over 1500 companies across different industries, including Squre, Paypay, Webank, Hulu, Booking.com, Dailymontion, Shopee, Zomato, VNG, Tencent, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc.

Why we do

PingCAP started in 2015 when three seasoned infrastructure engineers were sick and tired of the way databases were managed, scaled, and maintained while working at leading Internet companies. Seeing no good solution on the market, they decided to build one themselves--the open-source way. PingCAP is founded by the team that built TiDB, a world leading open-source, cloud-native, distributed SQL/NewSQL database for elastic scale and real-time analytics, which is compatible with MySQL, and enables companies to painlessly scale their business while keeping the underlying infrastructure simple and serve as a one-stop solution for all online transactions and analysis.

How we do

We believe in building a world class diverse team globally. Open door policy is one of our key values and we take feedback and work on it continuously. With the help of a first-class team and hundreds of contributors from around the globe, PingCAP is building an open source distributed NewSQL hybrid transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) database. Its flagship project, TiDB, is a cloud-native distributed SQL layer with MySQL compatibility, and one of the most popular open source database projects in the world. We’re looking for talented and amazing team players who want to accelerate our growth, while doing some of the best work of their careers. Join us as we build the database for the future!
