We are developing services to improve people's lives and society, with the aim of realizing home-oriented medical and health care. There are two main services: ■ Oishi kenko (Delicious Health) (https://oishi-kenko.com/) Oishi kenko is a completely new dietary support app that personalizes recipe search and menu creation according to the user's health condition (disease, diet, etc.). Many people face the problem of not knowing what and how to eat when maintaining their health, dieting, or becoming ill or old. It is our desire to eliminate this problem and to let them enjoy delicious and easy-to-make meals whenever they want. ■ Kurashi no Kihon (Basics of our Lives) (https://kurashi-no-kihon.com/)" Kurashi no Kihon is a wellness site where you can find useful tips, high quality videos, and informational articles on keeping your life in balance and providing wisdom for your everyday life. Yataro Matsuura, the former editor-in-chief of the magazine Kurashi-no-techo (暮しの手帖 ) and joint CEO of Oishi kenko, is producing the project.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy healthy and easy-to-make meals without the difficulty of finding the right recipe. Everyone goes through changes as they age or from life events that they encounter, and your body’s requirements change as well. You may think that healthy meals for people of old age or preventing illness are time-consuming, of poor quality, or unsatisfying, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Until now, the mainstream approach was to think that "being healthy" and "enjoying a meal" cannot be achieved at the same time. As a result, some resort to extreme diets and methods that are unrealistic and too restrictive for the long term. These diets can do more harm than they do good and may leave some worse off than they started. We believe that taste is key to the success of sticking to a diet or when eating with health in mind. Eating delicious foods can help keep you on track and prevent you from returning to bad habits. We provide services by fully mobilizing the power of experts and technology to let you enjoy these meals effortlessly. Each person has a different definition of health; some people eat too much while others don't eat enough. Technology is needed to provide healthy meals tailored to each person’s lifestyle and restrictions. Enjoying a meal is not just a matter of tasty food. Eating with family and those closest to you, living in a stress-free environment, and home cooked meals all lead to the best experience. Food is important, therefore we must make it enjoyable to eat no matter our health. Whether we are sick or old, watching our diet or trying to prevent a disease, our health and happiness come first. By becoming closer to consumers, we hope to improve the lives of consumers at the individual level, and in turn reduce the burden of long term medical expenses and nursing care. This is our mission.

Since its establishment in July 2016, the number of employees at Oishi kenko has tripled to 45 people. Although it is just starting out, it aims to be the world's easiest and most creative company to work for. Not only moms and dads, but also a flexible work system such as remote work, childcare allowances, etc., so that childbirth, childcare and employment can be balanced. In addition, Oishi kenko provides support for commuting to graduate school, overseas business trips (once a year, freely), and free book purchase. We are looking for an engineer to continuously improve our currently available iOS app “Oishi kenko”, which means “delicious health” in English. The iOS app is an application that further evolves the web service “Oishi kenko”. We are adding a variety of new features such as searching for recipes based on a user’s health conditions, and making it easier to save their favorite menus and recipes for later. The iOS app was released at the end of February 2018*, and is still in early stages in relation to our long term goals. We are looking for engineers who can (and would like to) develop using Swift in Xcode. The project is written in Swift 5 and is constantly integrating the latest standards and technology. We use CircleCI to automatically build and distribute the latest version of the app for use internally. Our engineers have a wide range of skills and interests that span multiple fields. We are open to hiring those who specialize in iOS, as well as those who are interested in working on multiple aspects of app creation and design.
