Often, aquaculture technology developers of novel innovations are not prepared for the world of skillful venture capitalists. Established to bridge this gap, HATCH, the world’s first sustainable aquaculture accelerator, has an tailor-made accelerator program to mentor Seed or Pre-seed startups with innovative and scalable solutions for relevant aquaculture problems. The requirement is a team of two willing to focus 100% on their venture and have an initial proof-of-concept. The scheme offers a 15‑week program of professional mentoring, access to global aquaculture industry and investor connections, team and product development support, office space, fundraising expertise, as well as funding, to help young aquaculture companies grow and commercialize.

This will be a Part-time or full-time Internship with flexible working hours for 3 months. You'll be working in an entrepreneurial environment at One North, Singapore. Undergraduates are welcome to apply! As our Data Science Engineer Intern, you will be: - Source and visualize data across multiple sources - Automate web crawling to scrape market and industry data - Develop and manage industry and market info databases - Able to extract and organise data from multiple file formats into excel - Update our front-end tableau interfaces - Report to Dealflow Analyst, Singapore We're looking for someone who is/has: - Web scraping and database engineering science expertise - Highly organized, proactive and self-motivated - Strong interpersonal skills - Aquaculture and investment experience/knowledge is not required but is considered a bonus - Major in Computer Science courses or related fields also accepted - Experience in developing automated web data scraping and developing databases - Able to operate with either Selenium webdriver, Python (Beautiful Soup/Scrapy), Octoparse, Ruby, Scraper API, Powershell or any programing software tools for data/web scraping and database engineering - Proficient in either JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or JQuery - Has experience or knowledge with Excel, Oracle, Sybase, SQL or NoSQL databases - Comfortable with Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft Office suite and Tableau - Flexibility and positive attitude are crucial - Self-starter with a out-going responsibility - Team player and ability to work independently and proactively - Able to occasionally work irregular hours - English speaking Singaporean citizen or permanent residents preferred - Spanish or Mandarin speaking would be a bonus What you can look forward to: - Work with investment analysts on generating insights from both qualitative and quantitative data to facilitate better decision making - Chance to shape the global aquaculture industry - Become part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team trying to make an impact - Submerge in a creative and fast-moving environment where you are encouraged to bring in your own ideas - Unique insights into the forefront of aquaculture innovation Join us if you are interested in this position!
