Why we do

Today, the existence of "IT engineers" is indispensable. To change business with IT, Hiring and training engineers has become an urgent need for every company. HR Tech department in Givery, "Empower Engineering!" With this vision in mind, we are developing solutions for developer recruitment, evaluation and training. In this context, "track" is a platform that enables companies to recruit, train, and design assignment and evaluation systems for engineers based on their programming skills by providing "skill visualization" and "quantitative indexing of skills" through online programming challenges and learning materials. Through this product, we support the maximization of engineering capabilities within a company by providing appropriate HR (Recruitment, Training and Evaluation) practices for engineers within the company.

We use modern technologies with development practices such as code reviews, continuous integration, unit tests, and making sure tasks are clear before development starts, etc. Engineers feel welcome here. Work-life balance Despite being a startup, we all have a very stable work-life balance. This allows (or rather encourages) members to have other activities and responsibilities in life. We have flex time, paid leave, etc which is something a lot of our proud new parents really appreciate. Choose where you work We are all set up for remote work right now, but you are more than welcome to come to our modern, brand new (yeah, great timing, huh?) office in Shibuya, Tokyo. International Environment We have people from all corners of the world working together to build the best products possible. Most Engineers use English day to day, and so we don’t require Japanese abilities, but the perfect candidate will be able to navigate and negotiate our international work environment while making the transition smooth for the local members too. If you aren’t located in Japan yet, we’re still open to you if you’re living in a compatible timezone. You’ll work remotely initially, but we’ll be happy to sponsor a Japanese visa once borders open back up. Our response to COVID-19 Employees can work fully remotely, or come into the office if they choose.

As a new team member

About the position We are looking for a backend engineer to help us expand track, a product suite that helps companies evaluate, train and hire engineers. Responsibilities - Develop APIs and services in Scala with frameworks such as Play and Akka - Properly test and prepare new releases by writing automated tests, doing code reviews and helping introduce new processes that helps maintain a high quality code base. - Help evaluate and clarify product requirements and provide technical solutions that meet customers’ needs. - Monitoring and quick response to failures to ensure stable operation of services. Requirements - 3+ years of professional experience driving the backend work of a commercial product using Scala, Java or a modern functional programming language - Experience building REST APIs running over distributed infrastructure - Strong interest and knowledge of functional programming concepts and familiar with non blocking, asynchronous programming (ex: Actors, Futures, etc) - Expert level knowledge and experience with RDBMS/ORDBMS such as PostgreSQL/MySQL - Understanding and experience in CI and writing unit tests - Experience with AWS and Docker Nice to haves - Language skills in Japanese is a big plus, but not a requirement Compensation 7.0 to 10.5 million JPY annually.
