[Background and History] In his 1996 New Year Message, then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong highlighted the need for Singapore to become a gracious society by the 21st century. Considerate social behaviour supported by a strong economy and good government will make Singapore the best home for its people. In line with Mr Goh’s call to build a gracious society, the Singapore Kindness Movement, formed in 1997, aims to encourage Singaporeans to make a real commitment to gracious living through simple acts of kindness in their daily activities. --- We aspire to inspire graciousness one kind act at a time. By sparing a thought for the people around us, we hope each of us can be greater, create a more gracious society, and make life better for you and me.

At SKM, we keep our Team Kindness core-values of Synergy, Kinship and Mindset (SKM) in our hearts and minds, and in everything we do. Synergy is about teamwork. We are convinced that Together Each Achieves More (TEAM). Though we have our assigned sectors and each has a primary focus, we permit colleagues to call on one another to help in our respective tasks when there is a need. We make it a habit of asking each other, “How can I set you up for success?” Territorial mindset is actively discouraged. Kinship is about friendship. Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) is a non-profit organisation that executes public education programs aimed at cultivating kindness and graciousness in Singaporean society. The organisation's vision is to inspire graciousness through spontaneous acts of kindness, making life more pleasant for everyone. Objectives of SKM include encouraging all Singaporeans to be kind and considerate, creating public awareness of acts of kindness, and influencing and raising standards of behaviour and responsibility. Role Description: This is a full-time hybrid role for the Internship - Special Projects Officer in the Partnerships sector. The Special Projects officer will be responsible for working on various projects under the guidance of the Partnerships Sector team. The role requires one to provide administrative support as well as hands-on event management support in campaigns and events.
