Sarah has always been very intrigued by the term social entrepreneurs. Achieving sustainability as a business entity is challenging enough. Concurrently, having to achieve social impact makes it an even greater challenge. Although, it is a challenge worth taking on.

Sarah has always been very intrigued by the term social entrepreneurs. Achieving sustainability as a business entity is challenging enough. Concurrently, having to achieve social impact makes it an even greater challenge. Although, it is a challenge worth taking on.

What we do

raiSE was set up in 2015 to develop the Social Enterprise sector in Singapore through a cross-sector collaboration between the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Council of Social Service, Social Enterprise Association and Tote Board. raiSE was officially launched by Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, former President of the Republic of Singapore on 27 May 2015.

Why we do

As an ecosystem builder, we seed and nurture new social enterprises by providing advisory services, programmes, training, and resources. We enable existing social enterprises to grow and become sustainable by providing financing options, capacity building and mentorship. raiSE seeks to connect with social enterprises and intermediary bodies in the region and share best practices with each other. As there is a global shift in mindsets from a commitment to shareholders to a focus on stakeholders instead, therefore raiSE advocates for corporations to explore new and innovative ways to contribute to the development of the social enterprise sector. SMEs and MNCs in Singapore who are looking for more sustainable ways of corporate social responsibility can opt to make social enterprise a big part of their ESG goals and sustainability reporting plans.

How we do

- Something for every Social Entrepreneur and Enterprise - Grow with funding support from raiSE - Bringing SEs together through events and networks - Identifying Emerging & Unmet Social Needs

As a new team member

Social Enterprises (SEs) are businesses driven by a social mission. Established in 2015, the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) is dedicated to increasing awareness and support for its social enterprise members at every stage from inception to expansion. As a dynamic membership body, raiSE actively conducts activities to not only grow its community but also provide end-to-end support in helping its existing members grow and scale. Committed to the ongoing education and growth of its members, raiSE catalyses positive change within the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. This year, raiSE is looking to significantly grow our community of aspiring social entrepreneurs, as well as to provide greater value and a better experience for our SE members and ecosystem stakeholders. Hence, we are seeking a Community Builder to join our team to inspire more people to partner us in doing good through their businesses and to support them in their social enterprise journey. Your Role as a Community Builder: As a Community Builder, you'll be at the forefront of our journey, connecting with visionaries who are eager to make a difference. Believe in your ability to make a meaningful impact on both our SE members and the broader social enterprise landscape. • Empathy: Cultivate a deep understanding and empathy for the diverse experiences and challenges faced by social entrepreneurs. Let empathy be the compass that guides your interactions, fostering a supportive and inclusive community that values the well-being of its members. • Dual Expertise: Effortlessly maneuver between client-facing interactions and back-end administrative follow-ups. Your versatility is pivotal in creating comprehensive solutions that enhance the overall experience for our members.
