What we do

The Majurity Trust is a philanthropic organisation that seeks to work with donors and charities to build a thriving and sustainable community for all in Singapore. We do philanthropy differently.

Why we do

At The Majurity Trust, we strive to bridge the gaps in our community that need attention. We believe in tackling the less-talked-about and often thornier issues by collaborating with our donors and partners. We value the power of the collective. We are constantly engaging with people who are driven to make a real difference in the social sector. This means being open and willing to look at issues differently. Read more about us at www.majurity.sg.

How we do

We address unseen needs. Many living amongst us struggle behind closed doors. We need to surface these unseen gaps and needs so people who struggle can get to where they need to be. It is also about the unseen struggles that grantee partners (charities, non-profits, social impact organisations, ground up groups) go through, many exist to meet gaps but also exist in isolation. We go beyond the grant. We have built a robust framework to ensure that we invest in the best people and proposals in the charity sector. So that our funds, charities and community groups can better work together to maximise collective social impact over time. We move quickly and accurately. We track commitment and utilisation rates to ensure we do not sit on donor dollars that are entrusted to us. 100% commitment rate within 12 months and 95% utilisation rate within 24 months. We optimise your donation. Is your donation really doing good? You track your investments. Do you track your giving? What returns are you getting? Is it making a difference?

At The Majurity Trust (TMT), we strive to bridge the gaps in our community that need attention. We believe in tackling the less-talked-about and often thornier issues by collaborating with our donors and partners. We value the power of the collective. We are constantly engaging with people who are driven to make a real difference in the social sector. This means being open and being willing to look at issues differently. We are looking to hire an Associate in the Insights and Strategy team. The recently rebranded Insights and Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping our mission-driven initiatives and ensuring the most effective allocation of resources. By leveraging a combination of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation methodologies, we provide a deep understanding of societal challenges, emerging trends, and the impact of our philanthropic efforts and translate these insights into strategic recommendations, guiding our grantee partners and donors in making informed choices that maximise positive outcomes. [Job Description] You will be instrumental in ensuring that TMT estimates, describes and communicates the impact of its funds and grantee partners accurately. To do well in this role, you should be organised and detail-oriented, with a high standard of integrity. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and comfortable both working independently as well as with a team. This role reports to the Manager, Insights and Strategy. The key responsibilities of the Associate in the Insights and Strategy Team include: 1. Reporting and Analysis a. Perform data cleaning, maintain high standards of data management, and conduct data analysis b. Write up key findings on key outcomes for fund reports. c. Assist Philanthropy colleagues to integrate outcomes and impact data into decision-making for grants. d. Prepare and write briefs of key findings on outcomes and impact for grantee partners to use in their operations. 2. Project Management a. Create with each grantee partner a plan for collecting data on fund outcomes, including selecting appropriate surveys and establishing timelines. b. Work with grantee partners to implement research and evaluation data collection processes. c. Work with Philanthropy and Communications colleagues to organise, collate, and draft fund impact reports. 3. Engaging Grantee Partners a. Foster healthy relationships with Grantee Partners and promote a common understanding around the need for data collection. b. Maintain periodic touchpoints with grantee partners to monitor data collection c. Design, administer, and analyse feedback surveys from grantee partners and donors, to highlight issues or areas of development. [Desired Qualifications and Key Skills] The following key skills will help a candidate succeed in this role: a. Technical Skills: Excellent command of Office suite tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Familiarity with other research tools (e.g., R, Stata, ATLAS.ti, NVivo) is a bonus. b. Analytical Skills: Ability to collate and analyse relevant data to draw meaningful insights, especially with small datasets. c. Natural Curiosity: Ability to ask the right questions to draw out insights and explore creative ways to make sense of and/or collect meaningful data d. Strong Communicator: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written English. e. Empathy: Show understanding for the grantee partners and community members. f. Self-starter: Ability to work in a dynamic environment. g. People Skills: A good read on people and organisations, especially in the social sector will be an added advantage. This is an entry-level position, and we are open to considering candidates from diverse backgrounds. We recognize that academic performance and experience alone do not define a person’s ability to succeed. What matters most is having the right underlying character and attitudes. Approximately 1 - 3 years of experience in social sector research would be a bonus but is not required. If you are interested and believe you have what it takes to excel in this position, we would like to hear from you too!
