Now going into its eighteenth year, Earth Hour continues to shine a light on climate change and nature loss - the two biggest environmental issues facing our planet today. The time for action has never been more critical. Earth Hour encourages participants to share their commitment to the planet by Giving an hour for Earth, to create the Biggest hour for Earth yet. Participants are encouraged to dedicate one hour to planet-friendly activities, from embracing sustainable diets to learning about the environmental issues that we are facing. This serves as a rallying cry for the unprecedented collective action needed to address pressing environmental challenges. As a new team member

Position title: Content Creator Reports to: Digital, Senior Specialist Project Duration: Now to mid May 2024 (5-7 months) *Please share your salary expectation for this project* Mission of the department To engage audiences across the globe to accelerate conservation impact and to build the WWF and Earth Hour brand. To ensure a coherent ‘One Brand, One Voice’ by integrating and supporting the communications functions across the network To facilitate and coordinate the development and alignment to a global brand and communications strategy To provide a Centre of Excellence to the Network and convene the Communications Community in terms of communications practice, coordination across Practices, techniques, platforms and digital media To provide common technology platforms Network-wide to enable communication with the audience. Major functions: Devise, develop and deliver compelling, engaging and inspiring digital content (including - but not limited to - videos, images, GIFs etc.) in collaboration with internal and external production teams for use on WWF and Earth Hour channels Participate in content and activation ideation for Earth Hour and WWF social and web channels as well as adapting for open-source usage Help produce short-form and long-form written content for different digital platforms (social, web, and email) and audiences Monitor, evaluate and assess content performance; ensuring we learn from and iterate based on the results. Major duties and responsibilities: Assist the WWF International team with video and graphical content production requests and help our diverse on-the-ground WWF and Earth Hour teams to create better, more dynamic and engaging videos Assist the Digital team with creating social-media friendly and engaging rich media content for organic and paid posts on WWF and Earth Hour global social media platforms Create open source content that can be used by other organisations. Liaise with the WWF and Earth Hour network and other organisations around the world to gather inspirational stories of people making a difference on the ground and produce compelling rich media social and web content Contribute to planning and live around-the-clock video editing on Earth Hour night as footage is received, to create powerful highlight videos that exemplify the impact of Earth Hour (See Earth Hour 2023 On-the-night Highlights videos) Produce, evolve and optimise content templates for use within the team and by local WWF and Earth Hour Offices. Create briefs and assist local teams to produce ‘crowdsourced’ videos Liaise with external parties, from video production to translation agencies Contribute to editing of the annual Earth Hour official video, including adaptation and localisation Film key influencers / spokespeople when requested Provide video editing support for the larger team and the global WWF and Earth Hour network Stay up to date with the latest digital and social trends and activations, finding ways to incorporate elements within our WWF and Earth Hour content Perform other duties as required Required skills and competencies: 3-5 years professional experience in a content production environment Professional experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Have the capability to independently plan, storyboard and film various types of footage for video projects Good editorial judgement and knowledge of online and off-line international media markets. Great attention to detail and consistency Able to find and tell compelling stories Picks up new things quickly, and proactive about finding innovative solutions to problems Excellent written and verbal English skills are a must Interested in learning to work with a team in a fast-paced, global and multicultural environment Willing to learn about the global Earth Hour campaign and conservation goals of WWF Interest in environmental and sustainability issues Proven success in a multi-cultural international setting Fluency in English required. Fluency in other languages that are widely used at an international level is a distinct advantage Embraces the WWF mission and values of the organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration.
