What we do

Have you ever noticed how consumers are being tired of interruptive advertisements? Did you ever think that there should be a more creative way to get people interested in a product? We from Ksubaka did! That's why we decided to create a way for companies to interact with customers using the very simple language of games. Ksubaka creates gamified interactive advertising campaigns for consumers when they are in a decision making environment. We uniquely use the power of play to allow consumers to explore and learn brand stories - working on memory structures to increase brand recall, grow brand equity and boost sales. Instead of putting advertisements in places where it interrupts or even annoys the consumer, we placed playSpots - highly designed touch screens - in retail areas like shopping malls and supermarkets. They display a game that includes the branding message of our customers, followed e.g. by a CTA to sign up for a discount program. Consumers can walk up to these playSpots and get a moment of joy from these short and delightful interactive experiences. We have created a powerful new media space in retail environments in Asia and expanding globally.

Why we do

It all began with the idea to make advertisement worthwhile for the consumer, and the believe in the power of play. Julian, the founder of Ksubaka, had just overseen a massive growth of Take-Two Interactive in Asia (owner of Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto) and was troubled with the lack of ROI on advertising spend. He felt there should be a better and more effective way to reach consumers at the moment that mattered. He partnered with his brother Giles, a successful entrepreneur who had been leading innovation at Orange and a pioneer in mobile gaming. Together they built a world class team for developing a breakthrough platform to remotely manage and monitor tablets and provision gamified apps over the air. And their idea worked! 82% or the consumers that interacted with the playSpots stayed for more than 1 minute, which lead to a 2.4x increase in sales for the brand advertised. The consumers where delighted, as were Ksubakas clients. Today, each one of our playSpots attracts hundreds of shoppers a day and Ksubaka creates on average 100,000 moments of joy annually in every store where it is deployed.
