Job Description: Industrial Placement Student in Marketing GSK CONSUMER HEALTHCARE – NUTRITION & DIGESTIVE HEALTH CATEGORY TEAM JOB PURPOSE: • Category & Competitor Research to support Marketing Strategies of GSK Family Nutrition and Vitamins, Minerals & Supplements brands (Horlicks and Scott’s respectively) • Interns will work closely with GSK Marketing Directors to ensure GSK brands have the competitive advantage to succeed. Interns will be invited to recommend marketing strategies to ensure commercial success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • In-depth review of global marketing activities of Horlicks competitors within the Health Food Drinks category • In-depth review of global marketing activities of key players in adjacent product categories such as Breakfast Cereals, Cereal Bars and Ready-To-Drink nutritional beverages • In-depth review of the DHA Gummies market and Scott’s competitors in South East Asia • Not limited to Google &/or Data Mining. This project give interns an opportunity to replicate how Marketing Managers assess advertising, packaging, pricing, product claims, shopper and digital marketing of real-world competitors, and sharpen marketing strategies of their brands to build competitive advantage. • Day-to-day interactions & coaching with Marketing Directors and Managers will be provided to support intern’s development and enrich the experience. Includes participation in marketing as well as cross-functional workshops. BASIC QUALFICATIONS: Business Skills and Competencies • Educational background - Business, Economics or Marketing related degree (undergraduates with one year remaining to graduation when starting role) • A keen and demonstrable interest in all aspects of Marketing, Branding and Positioning • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office, specifically Powerpoint, Excel & Word Behavioural Skills and Competencies • Strong written and oral communications skills • Deadline-driven, flexible with self-reliance to work in an empowered environment • Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work in teams, and focus on delivering assigned work • A passion for learning and knowledge This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Fast-Moving Consumer Healthcare (FMCH) industry and experience the role of Category Marketing Teams in shaping business & marketing strategy. This role will be based in Singapore.
