そもそも、どんな仕事でも誰かのためになっているはず。でも、世の中、仕事の細分化や効率化が進みすぎて、自分が誰の役に立っているか実感をもてない、なんてことを耳にします。

As you know we don't often use travel services as I have been to over 50 countries. The decision to work with you was one of the best we ever made. Our family of five, spanning 18 to parents, had an incredible trip to Japan thanks to you.

From our first email exchanges I knew how well you listened to our interests and how very carefully you crafted our detailed itinerary. As you know, we followed almost all your suggestions and were so happy we did. Your level of professionalism and caring we off the charts great.

We so appreciated meeting you in Tokyo and all the fine details you provided (e.g., hand writing instructions on every baseball tickets; the photos guiding us through train stations). I also really appreciated the support you provided while we were in Japan

The quality of the guides and drivers you arranged was also first class. Every guide added their respective personal charm and warmth. The cooking class and tea ceremonies were very special.

来日前から何十ものメールをやりとりし、細かい手配も注意を払って進めるのですが、そんな努力や気持ちがお客さんの思い出深い家族旅行につながったことが分かってとても嬉しいです。また、大切な仲間である通訳ガイドの方々への感謝の言葉もチームみちトラベルとして嬉しい限りです。

次は、私の尊敬するベテランの先輩への言葉です。

My three teenage daughters and I just returned home from an amazing 12-day trip to Japan. Kaoru Nonaka and her team at Michi travel so thoughtfully and thoroughly designed our trip in accordance with our every need and desire—things we knew we wanted to do and see, plus myriad others that we didn’t even know we should want and what made the trip all the more meaningful and special. Kaoru and our guides really were truly exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect—sites, experiences, activities, food, shopping.
From the moment a representative from Michi Travel met us at the baggage claim and whisked us to our hotel where Kaoru was waiting with details, maps, train and subway tickets, and a hard copy of our itinerary, we knew we were in excellent and expert hands. Moreover, Kaoru made herself available the entire trip to any questions, concerns and changes that arose.
Our guides in Tokyo, Kyoto and Takayama were all incredibly expert, kind, and gracious. While there were many experiences scheduled, the guides were always nimble and responsive to any changes required or wanted. Their expertise in their respective geographies were especially appreciated; we were taken to special moss gardens at a particularly serene time of day when only certain flowers bloomed. They took into account food preferences and made wonderful local recommendations when we were out and about. My girls wanted to go to the Hedgehog café in Tokyo; our guide made a call and we headed over to Harajuku.
We also participated in special courses and ceremonies such as calligraphy, Washi paper making, tea ceremony, ikebana, and drumming. These were incredible experiences taught by true experts who honored us with their gifts of talents and teachings. My girls wanted to go to the Hedgehog café in Tokyo on a whim; our guide made a quick call to reserve us a spot and we headed over to Shinjuku. We saw exquisite shrines and temples, ate incredible food, took cooking classes, went to the Digital art museum, walked through fish markets and shopped. A lot.
It was such a privilege to have private tour guides and drivers—this enabled much more efficiency and comfort (A/C! water!) and the drivers were so kind as well. The promptness of our guides and drivers and the attention to detail in the planning and execution of our travel plans were exceptional. For example, Michi Travel purchased our Shinkansen train tickets and delivered them to us in Japan, with the train tickets for each day marked and easy to identify. Everything was perfectly organized. What was especially thoughtful was how our guides spoke with each other so that as we moved from place to place, our interests and preferences were communicated. As an example, when we arrived to Takayama, our guide shared that she knew I was interested in ceramics and so had set up a special visit with a ceramist at his village shop.
Our trip to Japan was so incredibly special; I am still moved by the generosity of spirit and graciousness of everyone we met and the experiences that were so thoughtfully curated. I have many friends who have already used Michi Travel and I will recommend to everyone I know. I am already scheduling another trip to Japan as soon as I can and will be ask this wonderful agency to plan it.
