The startup scene is a hub of innovation, creativity, and collaboration. As a result, many aspiring entrepreneurs and startup enthusiasts are eager to learn more about the industry, its technology, and the opportunities available. Recently, intern members hosted an event called "Young Startup Members Association" which brought together young, like-minded individuals from various startup companies to discuss working in startups and the impact of AI in the industry.
The event was held on March 22nd in the afternoon, and nine participants with a passion for entrepreneurship and technology gathered at the company office building. The event had to be rescheduled twice due to everyone's busy schedules, but ultimately the event was a success. The informal setting of the event allowed participants to converse with each other while enjoying a barbeque. In addition, it was a perfect opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and learn about their experiences working in the startup industry.
The event began with a discussion on the challenges and benefits of working in a startup. The participants shared their experiences, tips, and advice on how to navigate the startup world. The conversation then turned to AI - one of the most transformative technologies of our time. The participants discussed the role of AI in startup companies and how it has changed the working culture. We talked about how AI, along with Covid-19, has changed the working environment. As we were all freshers, we also discussed how education and Covid-19 have affected it. We talked about working in a startup, the type of work we do, and how it has helped us grow.
We also played a Bingo game, where a winner was awarded a gift card. The game was boring for the first few rounds, but we came up with an idea to play it differently. We changed the rules and made getting all your words cut out compulsory! The participants eagerly took part, competing for a prize. The game after the change was a hit, with lots of laughter and friendly banter.
To end the event on a fun note, we also played "人狼" (Werewolf), where people vote out the Werewolf to win the game. It is similar to "Among Us." We had a blast playing it! So, why did we play Werewolf? In order to succeed in Werewolf, players must successfully interact with one another. First, players must use their words to disprove others' accusations against them or affirm their innocence. Next, players must detect who is lying and speaking the truth by observing non-verbal clues and body language. Werewolf encourages players to use strategic thinking and be flexible in response to changing conditions. Players must be able to analyze the scenario, foresee other players' moves, and take appropriate action. We can develop our strategic thought and sound judgment capacity by playing Werewolf.
Collaboration and teamwork are essential for players to succeed in Werewolf. To find the werewolves and vote them out, players must be able to trust one another and work well together. We were able to hone our teamwork and collaboration abilities through this game. It was a lot of fun and a lot of learning.
We plan to focus more on marketing for future events to reach a wider audience. We also aim to make the event more formal, check the timing, and add more structured activities to provide value to the attendees.
Overall, the Intern Networking Event was a great success, providing a platform for individuals to connect, learn, and grow in the startup industry. It was a valuable experience for everyone who attended, and we can look forward to more events like this in the future. Anyone wanting to participate can join the Slack channel from the link below.
